More on KAAY concerts
I remember one show KAAY promoted was a Jerry Lee Lewis concert in the basement of the Robinson Auditorium. Seems like we had tables setup and it like a nightclub format. Like most performers of that day he gave it all to the audience. We had rented a piano from Reed Music Company. He promptly put it on coke cases so he could stand up and play. By the end of the performance he had destroyed the piano. Any money we made on the concert went to replace the piano. He gave it all, including the piano, to the audience." Goodness gracious, great pianos of fire."
